Beyoncé - the top-selling artist of the decade

Beyoncé is the top-selling artist of the decade, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

The organisation has released a compilation of its awards from 2000 through 2009 and the multi-Grammy winning artist (she picked up more than a handful of gongs this year), and former Destiny’s Child frontwoman, was ahead of the pack with a whopping 64 certifications for albums, ringtones, and music videos. Soaring above the rest were also The Eagles, besting all other groups in total gold and platinum awards, while the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, led male solo artists.

A gold award is presented when the sales figures reach at least 500,000 albums or ringtones, while platinum status is attained once an artist reaches the 1 million mark. “We’ve seen a decade of major music milestones and extraordinary artist achievements,” the chairman and CEO of RIAA said. “The names, songs and albums on our list are the decade’s best...”

According to The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), iconic superstar Beyonce, is the artist with the most total certifications over the past decade, with a total of 64. The certifications include cumulative album, digital song, master ringtone, and music video certifications. Beyonce also has the most master ringtone certifications for a female solo artist with 19 and the highest certified master ringtone for a female artist with "Irreplaceable" at 3x multi-Platinum. She received her very first Gold album award for her Grammy® Award winning debut solo album, "Dangerously in Love" on July 29, 2003. "Dangerously in Love" is currently 4x multi-platinum.

Last month, Beyonce broke the record for most Grammy® wins by a female artist in a single year taking home six awards, including "Song of the Year" (for "Single Ladies"). The wins brought her career Grammy® total up to 16 (13 as a solo artist and 3 with Destiny's Child.)

Beyonce flaunts her assets in Trinidad

Beyonce flaunts her figure in a barely-there leotard at gig in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

She's been on the road for what seems like years - so it's little wonder some of Beyonce's outfits are wearing away.

That can be the only explanation for the barely-there leotard she wore at her gig in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Still, the crowd - on the final show of her world tour - didn't seem to mind.

Touring Bey missed out on accompanying husband Jay-Z to the Brits last week as he won best international male artist.

Mmm, the poor lass probably had nothing to wear anyway.

So, Beyonce's husband claims credit for her dance routines

She has stunned audiences all over the world with her energetic and creative dance routines when she performs live.

But according to Beyonce Knowles' husband Jay-Z, he is the real choreographer behind the moves that have made his wife a global sex symbol.

Dazzling: Beyonce performed for hundreds of fans in Trinidad last night

While the former performed for hundreds in Trinidad last night, the latter was a guest on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross following his appearance at The Brits earlier this week.

And although he is generally reluctant to open up about his marriage, the hip hop star spoke briefly about his wife.

A Jay-Z inspired move? The singer's husband claimed his wife steals his routines

When asked if he watches the Single Ladies star's performances, the 40-year-old jokingly said: 'She's a magnificent performer. I steal routines from her. She steals from me.'

Referring to 28-year-old's chart-topping single Crazy in Love - which he also featured in - he added: 'The 'uh-oh' dance - that was me.'

Knowing the hip-hop star seldom speaks about his relationship with his wife, presenter Ross pushed him for further details, asking if she had performed the now famous Single Ladies dance for him.

Again he joked: 'I actually created that dance too - that was me again. I wouldn't really tell anyone but you asked. I wouldn't want to make myself seem more important.'

The rap star also spoke of his relationship with President Barack Obama saying: 'I don't want to overstate it. I know who he is. I've never been to the White House. I've been invited but I've been on tour with this album.'

Ross and Jay-Z - whose real name is Shawn Carter - bantered about The Brits and the former's parodic gangster ensemble which he showcased at the awards.

The Single Ladies star gave a typically energetic performance

When the presenter offered to rap for him, Carter replied: 'I don't think that would be cool.'

He also revealed he still calls P Diddy - formerly Puff Daddy - Puff, saying: 'If he changes his name back, I'll still be there.'

Meanwhile, regardless of who created her slick choreography, it is doubtful any fan in Trinidad was disappointed by Beyonce's performance last night.

Familiar: Beyonce showcases a move that could be from a Jay-Z concert

Wearing a be-jewelled, gold leotard and matching heels, the star was energetic as ever for her Caribbean fans.

She later changed into a gold minidress which was also covered in gems and sparkling.

Beyonce second show in Brazil ended with a gun fight

Beyonce Knowles’ second show in Brazil ended with a gun fight last night.

Pop superstar Beyonce had been performing to a 30,000-strong audience, but the night ended in terror when police had to open fire on teenagers who had been shooting at people waiting for taxis to get home.

The 29-year-old pop star was not hurt in the incident, and there were no serious injuries.

Beyonce has been in the country for the past week shooting the new video for her and Alicia Keys' forthcoming single 'Put It In A Love Song' and to perform a handful of concerts.

The singer spent much of yesterday sightseeing in Rio de Janeiro and visited the city’s famous Chris The Redeemer statue.

However, she was mobbed by other tourists as she tried to catch a glimpse of the 130ft landmark.

Beyonce had planned to stay in Rio de Janeiro for this weekend's carnival, but will be jetting into the UK next week for the BRIT Awards.

Brazil is crazy over Beyonce

BRAZIL is home to some of the world's most incredible women.

So it will come as no surprise to find BEYONCE fitted in perfectly as she played the biggest show of her life there this weekend.

Gorgeous ... Beyonce

There was a carnival atmosphere inside Sao Paolo's Morumbi stadium as the bootylicious one shimmied on stage in a selection of eye-popping outfits - including this sexy tight gold number.

Before launching into smash hit Crazy In Love, Beyonce said: "I want all the sexy girls in Sao Paolo dancing."

And the audience didn't disappoint with the 60,000 strong crowd dancing manically throughout the entire 90 minute set which also included Single Ladies, If I Were A Boy and Deja Vu.

Wrapping up the show, Beyonce - who picked up six Grammys last month - said "Thank you for having me here. This is my biggest show, and this is one of the best audiences for who I have sung for."
